Wales v Denmark - Tyler Roberts (Tournament Minutes: 0)

Wales became the first Home Nations side to secure their place in the Round of 16, despite succumbing to a 1-0 defeat to group winner's Italy in Rome on Sunday.

Robert Page's men finished as runner's up to Roberto Mancini's side in Group A by virtue of a superior goal difference, with Switzerland's 3-1 defeat of Turkey seeing them fall two goals short of assured qualification.

Wales' opening-day draw with the Swiss, coupled with their 2-0 win over the Turk's, was enough to seal their place in the knockout phase.

Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts has yet to feature at Euro 2020, with Keiffer Moore preferred as Wales' focal point up top. But, as the tournament progresses Roberts will be hoping there's still time for him to make his major international tournament debut.

Thus far, only Aaron Ramsey, Connor Roberts and Cardiff City striker Moore have got on the scoresheet for Wales. Meanwhile, Danny Ward collected one clean sheet in three group games, and Ethan Ampadu's sending off in Rome saw him become the youngest player to be shown a straight red in a European Championship .

Wales will kick off the Round of 16, as they meet Group B runner-up Denmark in Amsterdam on Saturday 26th June. The winner will progress to the quarter-final in Baku on Saturday 3rd July, where they would meet the winner of Czech Republic v Netherlands.

Denmark came from nowhere to snatch qualification in their final group fixture, hammering Russia 4-1 in Copenhagen on Monday, after a difficult start to the competition, which saw the entire football world and beyond momentarily holding its' breath for Christian Eriksen, as the Inter Milan midfielder collapsed during the first half half of the Danes opening game versus Finland.

Admirably and contentiously, Denmark's players took to the field to complete that match, ending in a 1-0 win for Finland, before being narrowly beaten by group winner's Belgium.

Wales and Denmark last met in 2018, with the Danes wining home-any-away UEFA Nations League group fixture's.

The two sides have met on only ten previous occasions, and never in a major tournament. Wales have won four of the ten meetings, averaging 0.9 goals per game. Meanwhile, Denmark are ranked 10th in the FIFA World Ranking's, seven places above Wales.

Croatia v Spain - Diego Llorente (Tournament Minutes: 0)

Spain finally announced their arrival at Euro 2020 with a thumping 5-0 win over Slovakia to seal their place in the Round of 16. Luis Enrique's side knew they must win to qualify, after two underwhelming draws left the Spanish side with two points from their first two group games.

Confirming their safe passage to the knockout phase in emphatic fashion, Spain finished as runner's up to Sweden in Group E, sending Slovakia and Poland crashing out at the earliest opportunity.

Leeds United defender Diego Llorente is still yet to feature for his country in their opening three group games, after rejoining the squad following a brief isolation period as a result of testing positive for coronavirus only days before the start of the tournament. Llorente will be hoping Spain's progression will increase his chances of getting game time before the tournaments' conclusion.

Gerard Moreno's two assists in three games see's him 2nd in the tournament behind Switzerland's Steven Zuber and Denmark's Pierre-Emil Hojbjerg. Unai Simon boasts two clean sheets from three, conceding only once in the group stage. Meanwhile, Aymeric Laporte, Ferran Torres, Pablo Sarabia and Alvaro Morata all have one goal apiece.

In the Round of 16, Spain will face Croatia in Copenhagen on Monday 28th June, with the two sides having last met in the UEFA Nations League in 2018. The winner will progress to the quarter-final in Saint Petersburg on Friday 2nd July, where they would meet the winner of France v Switzerland.

Croatia, 14th in the FIFA World Rankings, qualified as runner's up to England in Group D after comprehensively beating Scotland 3-1 in the final group game, snatching 2nd place on goals scored.

After being beaten 1-0 by England in the opening fixture, Zlatko Dalic's beaten 2018 World Cup finalists continued to underwhelm when held to a 1-1 draw with Czech Republic, leaving them on the brink of elimination prior to victory at Hampden Park.

Spain and Croatia last met it in the UEFA Nations League in 2018, with Croatia winning 3-2 in Zagreb, after a 6-0 thumping in Alicante.

The two sides have previously met on eight occasions, with Spain boasting a superior win ratio and goalscoring record. The sides have never faced each other at a major tournament, nor have they ever met on neutral ground previously. Croatia are currently ranked 14th in the FIFA World Ranking's, eight places below 6th-placed Spain.

England v Germany - Kalvin Phillips v Robin Koch (Tournament Minutes: 0)

England joined Wales as the second Home Nations side to qualify for the knockout phase by beating Czech Republic 1-0 at Wembley on Tuesday, sealing their Round of 16 spot as winner's of Group D.

The Three Lions are joined in the next round by runner's up Croatia, and Czech Republic, who qualify as one of four best-performing 3rd-place finishers. Meanwhile, Scotland are out of Euro 2020.

Kalvin Phillips is the only Leeds United player left in the competition to have played any minutes, and has completed every minute of the group stage fixtures for Gareth Southgate's side, putting in a man-of-the-match performance in the opening game against Croatia.

Phillips is the only outfield player to have played every minute of the Three Lions campaign thus far, and has completed the most ball recoveries and tackles of any England player, whilst also covering the furthest distance of any member of Southgate's side.

The Yorkshire Pirlo's 93 pressures are the highest of any England player, and also 3rd highest of any player at Euro 2020 thus far. His 32.6km covered is also the 5th highest in the tournament.

Thus far, only Raheem Sterling has got on the scoresheet for England. Meanwhile, at the other end, Jordan Pickford and co have collected three clean sheet from three group games.

Up next for England in the Round of 16, they face their old nemeses Germany at Wembley on Tuesday 29th June, with the two sides having last met in 2017. The victor will progress to a quarter-final meeting with either Sweden or Ukraine in Rome on Saturday 3rd July.

Germany just about scraped through to the Round of 16 after being given an almighty scare by Hungary in Munich on Wednesday. Joachim Lowe's side came from behind twice to rescue a draw, which sees them progress to the knockout stage as runner-up in Group F, the much-renowned 'Group of Death'.

Narrowly beaten 1-0 by World Champions France in the group opener in Munich, Germany then responded with a 4-2 victory over reigning European Champions Portugal, before snatching qualification from Hungary after being six minutes away from elimination.

Leeds United defender Robin Koch has still to feature for Germany thus far. Koch will be hoping Germany's extended stay at the tournament might afford him the chance of a major international tournament debut.

England and Germany last met in 2017, in a goalless friendly draw at Wembley.

Despite the general English expectation that "in the end, the German's always win", the Three Lions boast the marginally superior head-to-head record, and have a considerably better goalscoring record in meetings between the two sides.

The last meeting between the two sides at a major tournament was an infamous 4-1 win for Germany at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, when Frank Lampard's ghost goal wasn't given and Lowe's side went on to record a routine victory to eliminate the English from the Round of 16.

The two sides meet at Wembley for the first time in a major tournament since the 1966 World Cup final, with England currently ranked 4th in the FIFA World Ranking's, eight places above Germany in 12th.
